Sumner Website Design

About Sumner

Sumner is a delightful city with a rich history. Originally founded in 1853 as Stuck Junction, it was platted in 1883 by George H. Ryan, who anticipated a stop on the Northern Pacific Railway. The town was initially called "Franklin" until 1891 when it was renamed due to similar names with other towns. The new name "Sumner" was selected through a lottery, in honor of abolitionist Senator Charles Sumner.

The city is popular for its community involvement, small shops, restaurants, and furniture stores, making it a laid-back town and a fantastic place to raise a family.
